Here I am trying to “Seize the Lobster”:
We came across this bad boy on the way to Key West the other day. Man I would love to eat my way through a tail that size.
We will definitely be stopping back to try the real thing there and give you a report.
That’s my Valhalla for sure, CLMF!!!!
Almost happened. We are staying at Key West Inn located in Key Largo. Nice townhouse, 2nd story w/ upstairs master bedroom. Screened patio faces south and overlooks a canal full of boats. The charter dive and fishing boats begin making ready around 0700. Nice place to watch the sunrise. However our lease ends Christmas day and we were having no luck securing a permanent residence. Hotels are filled w/ holiday tourists. We considered th be possibility of parking at a store and walking into the state park before they close and hiding on the woodland paths to spend the night on benches. We could shower in the nice bath house in the mornings. However we managed to make contact through an agent w/ the owner of an apartment. Actually the first one we looked at the morning we got to town. It is being renovated and typical of many contractors they dissapeard at near completion. We convinced her that we didn’t mind the condition, we just need a home and the agent drew up the paperwork for us to sign today. It took the agent ten minutes past her close time and she won’t be back till the 27th. Definitely last minute and down to the wire. I will get some pics up and some links for what we are doing later when I
Bluenose II Rebuild Cam
The link up top is for the cam watching the rebuild of the famous Bluenose II sailing vessel. She is made of wood and being completely restored from keel up. Very interesting to see as few ships are built this way anymore.
If you look to the menu bar to the left you will see other camera view options. Click to see the boat from overhead, stern, etc. Bookmark it and check the progress occasionally.
Theres a new blog in town and it’s my Bro Jasons’ fishing blog. It is called Clmf1fishingjournal. I added it to my blog roll but am unable to copy the link here for some reason w/ my Motorola Xoom. Just click on the sidebar link I guess.
He has been writing about fishing in Wisconsin, mostly trout and catfish so far. He is sharing some of his killer tricks and bait info as well as some locations. Hopefully he will join us for some deep-sea fishing and report on that also. Toss him a comment as it is always cool to know that people are reading and if they like/dislike your blog.
We were layed off from Point Beach Nuclear Plant last week. The outage there is almost done and we were there less time than antisipated. That’s ok we got 60+ days of outage which translates to 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week. I even worked a couple of my scheduled days off (monday) in an attempt to beat Aprils all time big check. Didn’t happen but I made a few extra bucks anyway.
So the past week we headed down to Boscobel w/ a van load of stuff for storage. We visited the kids and grandkids. We stayed at Dylan’s and hatched a plan to take him to Florida w/ us. He was layed off recently from his milking/farming job and recently became unattatched to current girl freind. He as always wanted to travel so the timing is perfect While reluctent to quit his shitty cheese job (remember Fredy got Fingered?) he couldn’t resist our promises of warm temps and sandy girls. He has been working 3rd shift at Meister Cheese and I am proud of his desire to carry on the family cheese making tradition but times have changed and it’s just not the same anyway.
So we are back up north by Tish Mills Wi to pack up the apartment. We will head back to Boscobel in a few days, kiss the grandkids and be off to Florida around the 18-20th I believe. We had hoped to move the boat and live on it in Key Largo but it is logistically neer impossibly at this time.
Will add more later as once again I am typing in the Twilight Zone. On this Xoom I can only see and edit the first 120 words. After that I can no longer see or edit this.
